RESUMO:
Artificial intelligence has become an emblematic question in many fields of expertise. Most people started to fear or admire this technology guided by a popular and unreal perspective immersed in literary or cinematographic fiction, which was potentialized by the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022. Nevertheless, we lack evidence confirming the creation of a superintelligence capable of replacing human skills and capacities (Kaufman & Santaella, 2020) Moreover, AI is already surrounding people through digital mobiles that are increasingly integrated into our daily lives, modifying our ways of living and understanding the world. Since 2010, with Google's implementation of AI for personalized searches, our data across social media and digital platforms have transformed into our virtual ID, guiding us into a modern platform society (Dick, Powell & Wall, 2018). This study aims to explore the impact of BookTok's social bubbles, created by TikTok's artificial intelligence algorithms, on the development of reading and writing skills of undergraduate students. This qualitative field research employs Action Research (Barbier, 2007) as its methodology. The participants in this study are undergraduate students from Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brazil. Data will be generated through foci groups and semi-structured interviews. To analyze the data, the study will employ the Analytical Entwining (Boa Sorte et al., 2023), which combines Teacher Research (Freeman, 1998) with data coding (Auerbach & Silverstein, 2003).
